This is the only travelling case I've owned for my Switch with its other components, (I do have a regular case for just the Switch is not the same thing as buying something like this) so I can not compare to others at this moment.It arrived in a box as expected which definitely kept it from being damaged along the way from the warehouse to my house. The outside feels like a typical backpack or travelling case would feel like. Inside is a hard styrofoam material with all the shapes cutout for the console, controller, dock, and cords. The material can't easily bend which is both good and bad. It's good because yes, it will definitely hold everything in place as you're travelling around with your items. The bad is, the material warped or was manipulated slightly so that it didn't hug the walls of the case like in the picture, which isn't totally bad as when you put the items in it'll push it for the time being.I tried putting in the Switch first and as I tried I was completely happy that I already put on a glass screen protector because there is no doubt in mind that if I didn't, the screen would be scratched up now in some form because the material pushes so hard against the screen as the main way to keep it in place while travelling. Also, as you can imagine, if you have any armor guards or additional pieces around the console or the joy cons, you will have to take them off first. Something that does make me happy about the Switch cutout on the material is they cut out room so you can put fingers in to grab and pull it out. Unfortunately, I feel as though it's almost too difficult to put the Switch in and to take it out. I would agree that that is the main thing to protect, however I feel like it could have been tweaked in the long run.The joy-con grip controller that comes with the switch easily slides in and out joy cons attached to it do not get in the way of it as such. It is also another tight grip, but that is mostly expected so nothing comes out during travel.Space for the dock is not as tight as the other spaces, but holds it in nice regardless. The two slots for the wrist straps are also tight fits and work well. I imagine they didn't allow room for the literal strap to fit in them because it might have reduced friction in the event that they accidentally slide out. The last cutout is for the power plug which does fit in, but is the easiest to slide around.With all that being said, the actual material also comes out too and if you want to you can make it so it's all one big empty space for other purposes. This is something to bare in mind in case the material somehow loosens up over time or if it's taken out and put back in multiple times during its lifespan and could end up at some point sliding out in a rare and unfortunate scenario.The other aspects of this case are nice; there are plenty of spots for the games to fit and be snug against the flap. The bag against the top of the case is very nice too and can fit additional items, albeit not too many or nothing too big as then it won't close properly.Overall, I like the case and will definitely use it. If anything changes, it can be expected that my review will be altered one way or another. For now, enjoy it for what it is: a travelling / carrying case so that you don't have to either put everything in a bag or keep using the Switch box to move things from place to place like I was.
