After using this case every day for a few weeks to transport my Switch, with Split Pad Pro controller(s) installed, I think it does a good job. But I do think there are a few things I’d change.1- I don’t care for the look of the extruded buttons and ‘fox’ logo on the front of the case. I feel that the extruded buttons and sticks make it well known what is inside of the case. This makes it tempting for others to steal if they see it sitting out in the open. It should be much more discreet. I also don’t like the fox logo being on there. Because I feel like it looks somewhat feminine and childish. I’m an adult heterosexual male who carries this to work. I’d prefer it just be very plain and professional.2- The console fits somewhat snug inside, which is good overall. However I wish there was a strap or string of some sort that would sit under the console in the case, allowing you to pull up on it to more easily remove the switch from the case. It can be somewhat difficult to get it out at times. All in all, I think the price point of this product is perfect. I wouldn’t want it much cheaper or more expensive. It’s sitting in the sweet spot. I also still think despite my criticism, this is currently the best case for the switch you can buy, assuming you’re wanting to keep the Split Pad Pro controller(s) attached during travel.I recently purchased the split pad pro and didn't want to remove the new joycons every time I wanted to store my switch. This case is a perfect fit for the split pad pro. Very convenient. After watching the YouTube Channel “It Came From A Box” about this case, I went in head first and bought it through their link. I have also watched “Satisfye’s” channel coz they mentioned too that the Elite Pro Bundle bag for the OG Switch also fits the Switch with the Hori split pad pros. And being also a believer in Satisfye’s products (have both Elite Bundles for the OG Switch and Lite), I did try it but it puts some pressure on the split pad pros in 2 ways, going inwards (meaning from left and right going to the Switch tablet), and also on the ZR and ZL triggers going upwards, due to the top part mould of Satisfye’s bag. It’s "doable”, but really not ideal. So after receiving this case by Butterfox, I immediately tested it and by far, it is just moulded exactly in the shape of a Switch with the split pad pros on. No unnecessary pressure anywhere on the Switch, and on any of the buttons, face up and top bumpers and triggers. Perfect!... well, almost.Like the other reviews mentioned below, the size and shape of it is spot on, and I can attest to it. Like literally no play (which is a good thing) as your device fits in it like a well fitted glove. But also like the other reviews on this, a few gripes, which I think is very important.1. It is not as sturdy as many would hope for. If any of you have bought the Tomtoc slim case for the OG Switch, now that’s hard and tough! Cannot compare it with Skull&Co’s, cannot compare it with Satisfye’s, or Mumba’s, or Bioniks cases or bags. If I somehow found a way to drop that Tomtoc slim case on my face, I’d probably get a shiner for it. I’d wish this Butterfox case was as sturdy and semi-rigid as that case. Then I could give the sturdiness a full 10 out of 5.Easy to hold? Well not exactly. And this poses 2 major issues. One, since its not as sturdy and rigid as many would hope for, most wouldn’t take the risk of this getting squished in a packed backpack or any bag for that matter (unless for bags that has a bit of hard or semi-hardshell compartment, like a System-G backpack). So in that case (no pun intended), if one might carry this by hand, the second issue is there’s no optional wrist strap attachment, no handles (like the Satisfye, Skull&Co, and Bionik has), and no option for a shoulder strap (like Satisfye and Bionik has). So best of luck running around the city with this clutched on one hand or under an arm, coz it will fall, and since it’s not AS sturdy as mentioned above, you’ll have to have some luck coz you’re gonna need it.But is it a good case for the Switch with Split Pad Pros, well yes, kind of... its the only option we have at the time of this writing (20th June 2020). But it can be better.Make it as tough, rigid and as protective as a Tomtoc slim case, put a collapsible, securely stiched, easy to hold handle, put a separate ring for a wrist attachment jig, put a pair of D rings securely stitched to the bottom of the case for a shoulder strap (bottom, not top) to make it easy to get to the device while its on your shoulder, a deeper underside compartment to store a slim power bank, and you would have gotten yourself a killer product indeed. Not that it’s not great as it is, but it can always be better.PS. I’m a person who’s always moving around alot, so I need to think in advance and consider different use-cases (pun intended) for anything I think worth investing on, coz you’ll never know when you actually need a feature, up until you’re in “that spot” and think... “gosh, I wish I had thought of that sooner” situation. So my opinions may differ (to each his own, right). But if you are buying this thing, to keep the dust bunnies away from your device, it’s slick, its a no brainer. Fits amazing It's an excellent travel case if you play your Switch with larger joycons. The front pocket won't hold much without putting pressure on the screen and warping the case but there's a small cavity between the Switch itself and the game storage that I was able to stuff a couple things like headphones and a cloth. You can also stuff an entire Switch in a Mumba case in it. If you want something that will carry a couple different controller layout options, there's no beating this one for the money. While it fit fine, it's not contoured 100% correctly on the bottom edges. Still the best case available for the horrible Hori controller. This fits the Switch perfectly with the excellent (yet slightly cumbersome) Hori Switch Pad Pro attached. The case provides good all round protection for the console and whilst it is long, it is not too cumbersome and sits comfortably in my backpack. There is sufficient room for 10 games in little elastic pockets and a small zip compartment which would be ideal for a usb cable or earphones. However, there is a major issue. The case has an unpleasantly strong chemical smell that has not been lessened by leaving it airing out for the past six days. It is sufficiently bad that I would have returned it had I not needed the case immediately, and it did somewhat transfer the scent to the console. I really do hope it lessens with time, as otherwise this is an ideal solution to travelling with the Switch Pad Pro.this is a perfect Solid case for a HORI padded Switch !no need to disconnect the controllers ...they can stay fully connected and used as if this was a base switch ...has a little pouch inside which also acts as a screen protector whilst in the case + a strap !!amazing product! This is a really solid, substantial, high quality item for holding the Nintendo Switch whilst the Hori Split Pad Pro is attached. It feels like very premium material. The cutouts are a nice touch and there's plenty of room to hold extra accessories in the pouch, including the original joycon. I'd highly recommend this product!Switch with Hori split pad sits snuggly in the case. When closed the case feels very rigid and nothing seems to be shifting around inside which is good. The mesh wire/cable holder on the screen protector inside doesn’t allow for much storage but I was more concerned about protecting the actual console itself so it isn’t getting bashed around in my bag and his does the job. I just use the cable holder for my screen wipes etcAbsolutely spot on case for keeping those awesome Hori Split pads connected. 100% recommended.
