Part-time Heroes Wanted! The Heroland theme park offers guests an authentic RPG-style adventure for a price, but when a scruffy young park guide and his guests uncover ulterior motives by the organizers, legends become reality, and guests must take the fate of the park (and the world!) into their own hands. Created by an all-star development team consisting of key people behind MOTHER 3, Legend of Mana, and Fantasy Life, this 2D adventure brings not only a host of quirky heroes and their unique abilities to join your party for a new take on classic RPG-style combat, but also a colorful cast of monsters employed by the theme park, many with their own stories to tell! Day 1 ‘Knowble Edition’ to consist of game, 10.5” x 6” drawstring pouch, musical selections CD, 14” x 20” theme park-style folded map, and sumo wrestling papercraft.
Highly Customizable RPG - As a Hero tour guide, you choose what your party does, and when! Customize strategies, weapons, and more, including taking home treasure to decorate Lucky’s room
Wide Variety of Unique Heroes - Over 20 characters each with their own unique and entertaining quests and storylines! Overzealous knights, high school girls, pretentious princes and a casually nihilistic otter
Colorful Curious Monster Cast - The Monster Encyclopedia fills with stories about quirky co-workers jungle-dwelling goblins, cute little slugs, selfie-loving skeletons, and magical Romanesco broccoli
It Takes Some Legends to Make a Part-time Hero - Directed by Takahiro Yamane, written by Nobuyuki Inoue, in a colorful 2D world created by Nobuhiro Imagawa , and with Tsukasa Masuko’s whimsical tunes
This game is just OK. It is basically an idle game where you play a park guide. Your guests are the party members and you intervene sometimes to make sure they survive and give them gifts you find to increase their happiness. Some people might not like this. There are rpg elements like equipment and leveling and some hero recruitment. You can somewhat decorate a small space for your hero as well. Basic idle rpg fare. For some reason you can name your hero but 90% of the time you are referred to as Lucky. No idea why there was no gender option, only a male, as there is nothing storywise preventing it. There is FAR too much inane chatter, much worse than the typical jrpg. I basically put it in auto and go do something else until it finishes that how long it goes on. Most of the the characters talk like teenagers texting and it’s terrible. But occasionally the dialogue is quite humorous. It’s an OK game, good for around $20 because of the collectors edition and there is some fun in just the gameplay. I would’ve preferred they get rid of most of the story and dialogue aspects and just focus on gameplay. Sort of like how Miitopia does, this games sort of reminds me of that game.I can’t help but think if Nintendo put this out and charged $49 more people would be talking about it.I like it for what it is, if they ever make a follow up I’d hope they focus more on gameplay aspects and less on filler dialogue.
